Tá fáilte romhat… welcome. For generations, the Irish language carried the stories, humor, and heartache of people who refused to let it go silent, even when history did its best to see it disappear. Whether your own family lost the language one or two generations back or not that long ago, learning even a handful of words is a way of reaching backward and reclaiming something that is deeply meaningful.
This is a free Irish language series created to share with credit by the Irish People Newspaper… “The Irish People was a weekly newspaper which served as the “Voice of Irish Republicanism in America.” Published by volunteers who supported an Irish Republican political analysis, the paper provided weekly reports and analysis of events in Ireland related to the struggle against British rule. It also served as a contemporary weekly record and organizer of Irish-American political activity in the United States during a crucial epoch (1972-2004).”
Each lesson builds gently on the last, starting with the sounds and greetings you’ll actually use, and moving toward real conversation and the turns of phrase that make Irish so distinctly and beautifully itself. You don’t need any prior experience, just a few minutes a day.
Irish With Mollie is one of the best recommendations we could make as far as learning through a teacher.
